Today we are off from school to celebrate Mid Autumn Festival. (Yesterday you might have noticed Google’s special image during this day–or maybe Google has just catered to me here in HK.) Lanterns are strewn everywhere, and the place to be on this holiday is the beach. Last night we barbecued with the Passamontes and Dubois. It was super fun and of course yummy–Paul made his famous ribs! Happy Mid Autumn Festival everyone! Enjoy your day off if you are in China or HK! For the holiday, here’s a post with my red kimono purchased this summer just for Chinese holidays and festivals. To be honest, I wish I would have done a little more shopping this summer. During one shopping trip I went to T.J. Maxx; I just think I could have scored a few more items at this discount store–like this bright red kimono for instance. When I spotted it, I didn’t think much of it in context of living in Idaho, but when I thought about its use in Hong Kong, I knew I’d get many wears. For one, the color! Red is super auspicious and is generally worn during Chinese festivals and holidays, so I am set for the year!
