I’m all about the easy DIY. The one that is foolproof. The DIY that actually doesn’t take a lot of skill or patience. This Gold Bootie DIY was right up my alley!
1. Take an old pair of booties–I had replaced my black pair this season with the DV Juju ankle bootie, so I didn’t mind using this black pair from last year.
2. Go to your local craft store and buy a paint brush and glitter acrylic paint–I went with gold. I finally found my perfect local craft store. (If you are in Hong Kong and you haven’t been to Artland, you must go. It’s a 301 Lockhart in Wan Chai at the Lockhart Center, and it is very well stocked! Plus the people are so friendly and helpful. According to my project, the gal gave me three options to choose from.)
3. Begin painting the first coat.
(I probably could have stopped after this first coat as I like seeing the black peep through.)
4. I went for a second coat–just in case the glitter flakes off. Perhaps the look will last longer. No worries if I need to touch up; I still had leftover paint available.
I now have a new sparkly gold pair of booties! Perfect for dressing up my boyfriend jeans for the holidays! Let me know if you try this Gold Bootie DIY. It’s so easy!!

Thank you so much for linking up with Shoe and Tell Fashion Link Up on Style Nudge! Love your black to gold ankle boot project! I did something similar in an earlier post. I red glittered some pumps.
