Hong Kong in Shanghai with Louella Odié

As seen from so many updates here on the blog, my Instagram feed, or my Facebook page, we recently visited my sister Mary in Shanghai for Thanksgiving. It was such fun, and I’ll try not to post too much from the trip. One post I will dedicate my awesome travels to is Louella Odié. Louella Odié is a local Hong Kong handbag boutique. First, the reason I love this line of bags is the printmaking. With a brother as a printmaker, I have grown to have an appreciation for all things printed. With this mother-daughter team, mom Karen is the artist behind Louella Odié while Lauren is the businesswoman. The team is sensational as are the bags. I was so excited to carry The Hong Kong Skyline Tote throughout my four day weekend in Shanghai. It’s as if the bag, as many of my personal items, became a being, and She was often referred to as Her. Take a look at where She went in Shanghai!

Up above in the first pic, The Hong Kong Tote from Louella Odié was perched along the Bund on Shanghai’s riverfront gazing at the famous Oriental Pearl Tower across the Huangpu River. Directly above, She enjoyed some time in the fall leaves that were bustling along all Shanghai’s streets.

For lunch we stopped in at Lost Heaven–one of the most delectable establishments in Shanghai.

Then later with completely stuffed bellies, we stopped at the utterly chic M on the Bund for tea–and a bit of a rest. She had a chance to sit and stair out the window down at the Bund and all the bustling activity.

An afternoon stroll through Tian Zi Fang is a must: collect typical Chinese curiosities or invest in high quality artisan objects.

Eventually, The Hong Kong Skyline Tote from Louella Odié found herself perched among the pretty flowers.

After strolling through cobble stoned streets, a beer and a round of pool seems like the perfect post shopping activity.

Before dinner, to see and be seen, head over to Fumin Lu in the French Concession–it is definitely the happening spot and where we ran into our good friend David after many years. Yes, small world all the way!!

The French Concession in Shanghai is lined with restaurant options–the only thing is that this quintessentially European neighbourhood is actually quite vast. The sooner you get a handle on each main lu (lu is road in Chinese), you will be set. We had two great meals in Shanghai–both in the French Concession. We ate Thanksgiving dinner at D.O.C. serving the best pizza I’ve had since Italy, and on Saturday night we dined at Sichuan Citizen, an excellent Schezwan option for spicing up your palette.

Oh! I do love Shanghai!! Thank you to Louella Odié for the perfect tote to accompany my trip around this beautiful, totally chic city! It was my pleasure to bring a little Hong Kong to Shanghai.
