We all have something that gives us the ultimate amount of cozy comfort. My cozy is sitting by a fire and reading. In fact I can remember loving this act even as young girl. Inevitably my dad would be watching a football game, yet beforehand he had started a fire. I’d grab my book—unless the Dallas Cowgirls were on! And I’d sit by the cozy fire with my book.
Unfortunately we didn’t choose a home here in Quito with a fireplace, BUT that makes our weekend road trips even better when we choose a hotel with a fireplace in the room. Such was the case this past weekend when we went to Otavalo and stayed at 400 year old hacienda called Hacienda Cusin.
Twice in our lovely 400 year old room I sat by the fire to read my book: I’m reading A Children’s Bible for my newly joined book club here in Quito. If, like me, you were raised either Catholic or with a Christian religious background, I highly recommend this book. I know I’m reading a great book when I won’t finish it. I have about 30 more pages, but I’m savoring each page as the story is just so very good!
Of course I have lots of other cozy comforts, but if it’s cold outside, and I have a great book to read, give me the warmth of a fire. That’s my cozy!!
*Normally I would feature the book, but for the first time I’m reading a story on my iPhone. It hasn’t been too bad. In fact it’s been an easy read.
