Wearing yellow isn’t for everyone–even though I’m giving it a good attempt this spring with yellow trousers here and a sequins shift here. Since wearing yellow is one of the more difficult shades of color to wear, here I’m showing an easy way to incorporate this popular spring color: statement yellow earrings paired with a yellow bag. The other basic is simply wearing something comfortable like a white shirt and comfy jeans. This combo of accentuating with bold colored accessories could be applied to any color that’s a favorite but just doesn’t look good on you. Say navy doesn’t work on you or red, you could always find some fun statement earrings and a handbag and make it work. Another tip to battle that color that doesn’t work on your skin tone is pair it with a bright lip. Boom! It works. See?!
I ordered these fanciful earrings from HM. They definitely are a lot larger
than I thought they’d be,but that’s ok! I wore MAC’s bright Parrot Party
(which is a limited edition, but there are plentyof dupes found here)
and the beach bag is from Boracay Beach in the Philippines.
I must have picked up the last pair of these earrings; I can’t find them anywhere on any Topshop.com. I tried UK, US, and HK. Also, unfortunately it would appear that Topshop is no longer making their lipstick bullets–which is a tragedy. It is such a great lipstick formula. I’m wearing Rio Rio here, and let me just stop here and say, if you can pick up any lipsticks leftover from Topshop’s beauty line, do it! I have over a dozen colors,
and I’m happy with each and every one. Why are they discontinuing!!!?
I found these yellow flowers at HM and almost went for the long version, but then went simple. Hahah.
Nothing about my style is ever simple. The fanny pack is a must!
I’m so happy to have yet another sporty waist bag in yellow!
What color is hard for you to wear?
And how do you work it in to your wardrobe even if it isn’t your color?
Fabulous yellow backdrop, great sunnies too! Jacqui Mummabstylish
Thank you so much Jacqui! This yellow wall is right out my window. I try to use it sparingly, but it is very tempting with its brightness!

You’ve beautifully illustrated the power of statement earrings here sweet friend!! All of these ear baubles have a day brightening quality and I want some!! I love that you’ve paired them with a plain white shirt and boyfriend jeans. Allowing accessories to take center stage is fun!!
Yes, sometimes I wear plain clothes!! Hahaha! Not very often, but I do. Or actually the truth is in real life, I tend toward this outfit on weekends but I like to try out new looks here–oh and at school. Sometimes they work, and sometimes well….I might get stared at! Oh well!!! Hahah!

I also don’t think yellow is good on me, and I love it. I am committed to wearing some yellow this summer. It’s a happy color. Love your blog.
It’s easy with a touch of yellow in an accessory! Just make sure to wear a bright lippy–it battles the brightness of the yellow making your eyes pop. Yellow is fun, but you still need to take center stage!
Thank you so much for coming by. I’m so happy you love my blog! What a wonderful compliment. 😀

All are awesome! You rock a statement earring like no other! I especially love the belt bags! I’m wearing yellow today too! Let me know what you think….
That yellow outfit on you is GORGE! You’re one of the lucky ones Cindy.
And yes to the belt bag(s). My husband was like, “How many do you need?” A lot babe. A lot!

The yellow Wall is amazing!

Thank you! My problem now is that I keep buying more yellow earrings. Enough is enough!! But there are so many cute pairs out there. I step into H&M or Forever21 and boom…. a few more statement earrings.
The yellow wall is right across the street from our Apartment. As I write, I can turn my head, look out the window, and there it is! It’s a fun one.
Thanks for stopping by Monica!
