Wearing Shorts this September

For every Wednesday of September I’ve featured outfits wearing shorts: 1st look, 2nd look, and 3rd look, and now the 4th look. For some, wearing shorts in Hong Kong happens year round, but for me it’s just during these fall months. It’s still hot and humid here and the temps won’t drop until January or so. It will get cold but not for a while. Yet, in the meantime, I’ve got fall and all those autumnal colors on my mind. I want to be experiencing the fall leaves, but here in Hong Kong the leaves drop in about a week–or they drop over night during torrential typhoons like the one we just experienced.

So, for keeping in check with HK’s temps and also keeping up with fall trends, I wear shorts in a certain way. For example, this very, very old pair (that I’ve actually purchased twice I like them so much!) are made of a burnt orange suede leather. The material of my shorts makes all the difference–it’s more fall-ish. In each of these features, my material has made a difference: pleather, ultra-suede, and a wool blend.

The color I choose during these fall months is also important. I mean, these shorts in this post are the perfect color of a fall leaf! Black, khaki, and tweed are also appropriate autumnal colors. Also, in each one of these posts, I’ve opted for longer sleeves. This time around I’ve gone for a kimono.

There’s one final styling tip I’ve embraced in hopes of drawing attention away from my legs; I’ve over accessorized in each instant with gobs of statement necklaces and matching earrings. In each of these posts there are also two similar items featured as well: my black Oroton bucket bag and my platform black canvas sneakers. These are two more autumn staples for me–that was until I got my black dad sneakers! Stay tuned for their debut on Monday!!

I hope these themed post on Wednesday have been enjoyable. I’m going to try out another theme for all the Wednesdays in October.

Stay Tuned!
