How many times does it take you to see something special in the stores before you’ll break down and finally consider it? For me I think the magic number is somewhere around four to five. I kept eyeing this wonderful winter white Christmas plaid skirt at H&M–and then finally just went ahead and purchased it. I often don’t have the patience to try things on anymore, and since there’s an H&M literally out my window, I figured it was safe to buy the biggest size and try it on at home.
While last Wednesday I talked about scoring holiday deals, this holiday circle skirt was the investment piece of 2018’s Christmas season. I have so much red Christmas plaid; it seemed relevant to add some white Christmas plaid to the holiday box.
For eight days now, I’ve been wearing ensembles just like this to school. For the last week and a half, I don my Santa hat too, and at 11:30 I holler some, “Ho, ho, hos!” at which point I pass out 24 gifts to 24 lucky students. It’s been super fun, yet with their finals’ week starting tomorrow, today was the last day. I might actually take a break from the typical holiday plaid I’ve been wearing and throw in some sequins instead. I can’t wait to get dressed tomoorow!
When I went online to see how the model styled this holiday circle skirt, I followed her to a T. She’s wearing a white sweater and black laced flats. Therefore, I pulled out my fancies black sneakers and presto: I’m wearing a holiday circle skirt with sneakers. And I dare say I look rather dressed up. Right?
That’s an easy trick you know… just look up your purchase online and see exactly how it was styled on the model showcasing your new piece. I do this more often than not I dare say. I mean I add my own personal touches of course: a red snake bag, my standard (and favorite) red metallic lip, and gobs of jewelry. Lately I’ve been keeping my camera, tripod and Remota (yes, my remote control has a lovely name) at school just in case I really like what I’m wearing. I take a walk around the school grounds and see what I can come up with. On Monday it was a pink wall perfectly suited for my Silver Pink cashmere sweater, and for today it was this privately hidden bunch of poinsettias tucked away. (These beautiful flowers really should be out on display in my honest opinion.) I’m already scheming for tomorrow’s outfit. And honestly, it takes about 15 minutes for me to go take my one woman show photo shoot. Some people take tea breaks; I take Remota breaks!
Speaking of holiday plaid–last week on Wednesday red Christmas plaid was featured while this week it’s a winter white.
