Oh my! For as much as I complain about Instagram, I really shouldn’t. I have made so many virtual girlfriends! I can’t even count how many virtual girlfriends I’ve made via this social media app. It’s connected me with people from all over the world. One connection I have is with @drelirium, or Andreína. It all started when she loved my blue mascara. I asked for her address and sent her a tube of my extra NYX supply. From there, I learned that she is from Venezuela–my children’s birth country giving us one more connection. Then, somehow, our passion for multi sparkled fanny packs arose. There was a spiral version that we both missed out on….
But then recently she was at Pull & Bear when I received a picture from Andreína: it was of this sparkly bag, and she had written out the letters “K K” for Kremb de la Kremb. It was so sweet and so cute; she then carried on to buy the bag for both me and her. Imagine my delight when it arrived in the mail. I love this bag! It’s so cute, so colorful, and so very me!
When I opened up the colorful bag, Andreína had included this bright, coral red lippy. She knows me well. There was another small little note in the bag that I’ll keep in there always. See, I do have amazing connections because of the Internet. And this is just one sample that happened this past month. There are so many more examples of female friendship across the Internet waves. I am determined to concentrate on these connections. They are what keep me going–not a set amount of followers on Instagram.
As my usage on social media declines, my efforts to write for this blog increase. This is the area of the Internet that keeps me creative. This is my area to share my thoughts and ideas. I’m able to write my silly stories and share my opinionated opinions (is that an oxymoron?). I can sometimes share bits of my family and definitely share the joy I receive from travel. All this can happen here on Kremb de la Kremb when just one connection is made. The connections are what keep me going!
