Tie Dye and Acid Wash

Why oh why do things have to come and go? And do I even care? When it comes to tie dye and acid wash, I really don’t. I love both of these washes, so regardless of whether this trend is “in” or not, I’ve been wearing both tie dye and acid wash because I like them. In fact, I’ll use a dated term: I think they’re RAD!

In attempts to have both tie dye and acid wash, I often take matters into my own hands and literally make the items myself. Here’s a sweet tie dye tee I embellished to make it even more RAD. And then here, I wanted an acid wash jacket so I made it myself.

There’s more evidence. Shall I go on? I think I will… I love this skirt and will never ever give it away. Meanwhile this sweatshirt has unfortunately been stolen by my daughter–although I secretly love that she likes tie dye too. Here are two more examples of the Gigster in tie dye: decorating the Christmas tree with her brother and holding her sweet baby cousin. As for acid wash, I am only able to find this thrifted dress–which is reminding me that it’s time to pull it out. In the meantime, I’m looking for the perfect pair of acid wash jeans…. let me know if you can recommend a pair. I don’t really like the pair I made alongside with this jacket–too much tie dye and not enough acid wash.

This outfit however, with the subtle pastel tie dye sweatshirt and the (diy) rough hemmed, thrifted acid wash skirt paired together, seems pretty perfect to me–simple and casual with a little bit of boho hippy funk too.

What is your opinion of tie dye and acid wash?
