Hoi An, as mentioned in this post, is famous for its tailoring. Basically every other store is a tailor shop and even when you walk into say an eyeglass store, there are tailors in the back sewing. (This is example is true; it happened to Kevin.) Much of what is seen on the mannequins outside each shop display much of the same thing. But then, this red floral dress, totally caught my eye. It was different both in style and the cute print. I turned my bike around and went in. Before I knew it I was ordering the red floral dress tailor made just for me!
This was our last night in Hoi An. Wow! It was so crazy busy with tourists–most of them from both China and Korea. We soon veered away from the main area of town and found ourselves amongst the smaller alley ways.
Then of all places to eat in delicious Vietnam, we enjoyed a meal of Greek food at Mix. It was sooooo amazing! Imagine our surprise, but sometimes when traveling, an international restaurant is bound to be found because of an expat living in the visiting country. Luckily, we’re good at spotting these delectable joints.
The decor in Mix was especially appealing with these great turquoise walls and antiques seeming to be sent over from Greece. There was even a wall filled with old sepia toned pictures. The atmosphere was bustling and the owner was making his rounds to each table. I love it when a special touch is added to the dining experience.
So I had to add this last picture–mainly because there’s a replica back home in Spokane, Washington. I’m about 12, maybe 13, and we’re celebrating someone’s birthday. My mom said, “Annie Fanny,” just as I’m about to take a bite of chocolate cake, and she caught my smirkie smirk. This picture reminds me of that memory and photo. I’ll have to find it this summer….
With Spring happening in other parts of the world over the Easter holiday, it’s fun to reminisce our spring break trip to Hoi An, Vietnam–in my tailored red floral dress!
