Summer Sailing and Summer’s End

Well, summer is officially over, and it’s definitely time to return to blogging. And I say this because I mean it! Honestly, I’ve missed writing here on Kremb de la Kremb. My summer was so intense; there was no way I would have been able to keep up with posting here on my blog. In fact, my summer was so much more intense than I ever expected. Athletics in the States are hardcore. I enjoyed every minute of it, but boy! It’s no joke!! There were games pretty much every single day, and sometimes Vincent had two games a day! The only pictures I took of an outfit were these pics taken on the one mini vacation Kevin and I took this summer: sailing with my sister and her husband for three days.

Sailing with my sister and her husband was such fun! They are sailors–even sailing in Thailand when they visited during Christmas of 2017. Unfortunately during our time on the boat, we were only able to sail once because of the lack of one main necessity: wind. But, we occupied our time doing other things like playing scrabble, venturing on to the San Juan Islands, and of course eating delicious food and drink. We slept cozy at night bundled into our sleeping bags snoozing like babies thanks to the rocking boat. We even slept in each morning which usually tends to be a rarity during our summers.

My sister is an amazing cook, so we ate gourmet items. She’s famous for her salads and we were treated to two of them. Mmmm, I need the recipes. Maybe I should share them here….? In fact, between the three sisters we’re thinking of creating a cookbook. It would be a good one; I can guarantee that!

In thinking ahead for the summer, the moment I saw this sailboat windbreaker at Forever 21, I instantly bought it. Granted, it didn’t serve me very well–it was hardly protective of the Pacific Northwest’s chilly winds. But I sure felt cute for the few moments I was able to wear it. Once on the boat however, I was promptly dressed in long johns and multiple layers topped off with a puffer coat and beanie hat.

Just in case you’re like me and like to play the part, I’ve found some sailing enthusiast gear. Or maybe you are already a sailor like my sister and need the sweater/coat/bathing suit/sarong to prove it….
