Last week I mentioned how I’m almost finish with my London College of Style certificate. Part of the most recent assignment, aside from this personal collage, was styling a friend, and I chose my dear friend Amber. The gist of the assignment was to take something of the individual but that add a bit of my own style to her look. Amber came over with her super cute tulle skirt and red Chucks. She agreed that she’d style the outfit pretty much the same way I did with a fun graphic tee; out of my collection she chose this fun black one with a message I actually believe in! I tied it in the back so as to give Amber a nice cinched in waist. Poofy skirts can be hard, so I wanted to make sure her slim waist was seen. To add a little of my enthusiasm for funk and color, I made one major difference: accessories. To play up the message of the tee, I styled her in pearls and a high, messy, ballet bun. Oh, and round sunnies, a glittery clutch, and her red lippy! Doesn’t she look fabulous?! Well, I think so, but that smile would be Amber’s best accessory!

LOVE LOVE LOVE the clutch!!!
Thank you TJ! I gushed when my sister gave it to me. It was my Christmas present while she was living in Bangladesh back in 2013. She stopped in Mumbai before meeting us for a holiday in Thailand. I used to live in Mumbai and would frequent the store where she got it a ton, so it was really a very special treat!
Otherwise, I wish I could tell you where to get something similar. This time I cannot! :S
Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

Now those you could totally pick up–Zara. Although they’re old. I’ll tell you what though: these would be a super easy DIY–if you do that sort of thing. Hmm, maybe I’ll have to give it a try. ;D

I could do with a stylist. Such a shame you live far away. Now I tackle my friends here in The Netherlands who know a thing or two. Even my husband is a better stylist. But I am learning. Very, very slowly, but I am learning. Must be fun to be able to do this. Amber looks indeed gorgeous.

Greetje! I am hear for you! This sort of stuff can be done from afar these days from instant chats and emails and sending pics and videos. Although you hardly need help! You are so stylish, so what are you talking about!?
Amber is one of those really neat ladies who is so gorgeous on the inside too. She was my daughter’s 5th grade teacher last year, and with Amber’s amazing teaching I feel so grateful that my daughter blossomed so to speak!
I’m serious though–if you ever have a quick question, ask me. I’ll give you my mobile number if you like. (In fact, maybe I should add that to my contact info. Hmmmm….?) Anyway, I used to have this friend while living in Mumbai. Whenever I’d get dressed for school in the morning and feel unsure, I could text him and he’s give me his insight. (Better than my husband ever could–he always says yes to my short hemlines and bulging, um, bosom!)
Greetje. You rock. Just had to end with that!!
Love, Ann
Hahaha, you funny women. I just might take you up on that. Could be fun too. My greates challenge lies in styling skirts. Especially wide long ones. I feel something wide over them makes it one big block. But tucking a top in makes it old fashioned. Probably all depends on the type of top but I don’t have good ones I think. Then… we have to make sure my upper body doesn’t become too short. Oh yes, I haven’t got much waist (83 cm). No hips, no bum, but good and long legs. Ss for your phone number.. are you kidding? Don’t add that to your contact details. There are also really sick guys around. Then you have to go through the hassle of a new number if one starts stalking you. And eh… my husband was the same: short black pencil skirt, hold ups and high heels please. I have now convinced him that I am too old for that and that it makes me look like trash at this age. This looks so much fun to wear…a cheeky t-shirt and red converse with a twirling skirt, when your shoes are comfortable enough to twirl in you can’t help but smile… a perfect combination :0)
