In an attempt to keep things real over here on Kremb de la Kremb, I’ve been trying to post some of the outfits I really wore. I used to post a series of Style Stories where I’d highlight each work day’s outfit, and in addition, I would rate each outfit out of a score of five. For some reason I stopped posting this type of article, but I did like it. For one it helps me really access my closet; for another, documenting my outfits each work day helps me figure out what works and what doesn’t for me and my style.

On Monday, Kevin and I went in to town, Causeway Bay to be specific. It seems like forever that we’ve been able to go into town, and it was such an enjoyable day. I wore this edgy, urban outfit, and I have to admit I felt very cute. When I get this extra pep to my step, I know I’be put together a winner of an outfit.

On Tuesday we had an all school professional development day. These days give a little more freedom to dress down a bit. I almost gave this outfit a 3/5, but the reason isn’t because I don’t like the actual outfit–it’s more about not liking the way the skort fits me (see its proper fit here or here). I’m attempting to lose some weight, and as I start to fit into clothes, I find I am sometimes pushing it. I need to wait for a few more lost lbs. before I feel more comfortable in this snake skort. Otherwise I do like the casualness of this look. I mean who doesn’t love a band tee–especially a Led Zepplin one!

On Wednesday, I experienced the same issue as Tuesday. The skirt is definitely a mini, and while it’s decent in the front, it rides up in the back, so I felt uncomfortable all day about my hemline. (Wearing tights with this skirt helps as seen here.) I have already sent this skirt to the tailor in an attempt to let out the hem. I think she’ll be able to add an inch to the skirt, so I’m looking forward to wearing it again. I do love my tee though: I’m from the upper most left sided state, Washington, so I was a proud graphic tee wearer on Wednesday. I also got a kick out of asking the kids at school if they knew what my shirt was referring to… Understandably it wasn’t so obvious to them.

We had another full day of PD (professional development) on Thursday, so again I was able to dress down a bit. What is not seen in this picture is the luxe, chenile, mossy green sweater I wore to keep me warm in the air conditioning indoors. While my cheetah sneakers are super cute, I don’t think they were necessary for this outfit; I think my khaki sneakers from Tuesday would have looked better. This paisley top is a sure winner. I’m so glad I got it during a September trip to Shanghai.
4/5
For Fridays at work, we’re encouraged to wear the school colors to promote school pride. I admitted to the principal today that I will always support this, but I will not be able to wear the shirt they provide for me. I like to choose my own clothing and don’t ever really want to be wearing the same thing as others. I mean we’re a team, sure, but we’re not a playing team. Basically, I don’t want to wear a uniform to work. I gave this outfit a 4/5 because I’m still trying to like these satin slip skirts. I’m not sure what it is, but I always feel a bit awkward in them. I’ll have to figure this out. But I do love this lightweight hoodie sweatshirt! (Here’s another styling of it.)
What do you think of the Style Stories>
Basically, Monday’s outfit and the actual day date with Kevin earned my 5 stars this week. And posting about each of my daily outfits has me excited to get dressed next week!
