The Redwoods are an amazing site to see! Their massiveness is beyond impressive. They are a mind blowing form of nature similar to the karst formations in Yangshuo, China. The tricky part about travelling through this forest is finding a base–it’s a very vast area with little towns with very limited overnight options. We had almost chosen a big hotel chain like the Red Lion in Eureka or the Best Western in Humboldt, but I’m so glad we didn’t. For our stay in this majestic forest, we wanted cozy and quaint in the woods with (hopefully) a bedside fire. Imagine our joy when we found just that with a campfire lit each night plus a pool to cool off in during the day. Miranda Gardens in the perfect Redwoods haven, and the best part about it is its location–right on the Avenue of the Giants!
Aside from the pool and the campfire, there was also a horseshoe pit, a ping pong table, basket ball court, and a place to throw the frisbee.
There are several different configured cabins: some sleep large groups, some are connected, and all have patios with BBQs. They were all super cute and definitely cozy–a must while staying in a forest!
Make sure to eat at Avenue Ok; they had a fantastic menu to choose from and the food was superb. (Just be forewarned of their hours: they want to seat you before 8:00 pm.)
