It’s true! I love HK!! When Jennie called statement tees for this month’s blogger collaboration, I was like “PHEW!” That’s basically all I wear–every day, with a pair of sneakers. Even last month when I struggled, I reverted back to a statement tee and sneaks! Of course, because I’m a silly overthinker, I thought to myself, “What’s the difference between a graphic tee and a statement tee?” Really nothing. A statement tee is a graphic tee, but the graphic tees we gravitate toward are the ones that make a personal statement for each of us individually. So, here, I chose my “I <3 HK” because I really, really do. I love living in Hong Kong.
Let’s just take a look at my statements made through tees. Most recently I wrote about having an “Open Heart, Open Mind.” What does that mean to me? And how do I go about maintaining a growth mindset in my life? This statement seemed extremely important to me as often times as women we are so hard on ourselves, so it’s best to “Be Your Own Best Friend.” I talked about how I try to do just that. Even all the ways that I try to make my life as good as possible made the blog with this list: “La Vita é Bella.”
I also have a plethora of work appropriate statement tees–I mean I am a librarian after all, so you can find me sporting “Coffee, Books, and Rain” and “Star Wars” with sequins. I will also usually state that the “The Book Was Better” and insist that “Reading is Sexy!”
It was funny: after this theme was called, I opened up my tee shirt drawer that’s packed full and sent a picture of all my statement tees to my blogger collaborators. I mean, I could have sent them all one. A recent statement tee that pretty much sums up my Pisces personality is this one: “Even my feelings have feelings.” Funny right? But totally true! Some of my statement tees are rather stupid. For example I got rid of this one a while ago. It was so dumb, but for some reason I couldn’t resist. This statement I whole heartedly agree with this one–probably explaining why I insist on wearing sequins with my statement tees.
Let’s read all my Fab 40s partners’ statement tees:
Jennie
Jennie has an amazing shoe collection–one to rival Sheela’s, so this tee is totally appropriate. I mean look at the shoes she’s wearing here!
Maria
Jennie invited Maria from Passion Fruit, Paws, and Peonies, and I totally need Maria’s shirt. I mean, really! I am so busy–doing nothing! Especially this summer out at Spirit Lake. Welcome Maria!
Suzy
Yes, Suzy!! Let’s shine!! I want to shine with you. What a fun tee!!
Sheela
Yes, Sheela! Let’s all “WOMAN UP!” I need to add this tee to my statement tee collection. I love this so much.
Mary
And Mary, you are our honey, really! Always so cute, so fresh. You absolutely are a HONEY!
Do you have a favorite statement tee?
