September was a very, very big month for me filled and dedicated to recuperating after my hip surgery. Despite or maybe because of time spent healing, I felt like September was a great month:
1. Yes, I’m wearing crutches, BUT I’m trying to wear them with style.
2. Rani is never allowed on our bed. Right when I arrived home from the hospital, an exception was made. It’s as if her doggy sense knew I needed some extra cuddles.
3. These are my new kicks! I bought them right away since I pretty much live in these black New Balance or my white Adidas. Basically, I keep wearing tennies thinking they’re the equivalent of a pair of booties.
4. My little gal turned 12! Of course, a Nutella cake was made to celebrate her birthday.
5. During some of my idle time resting, I often studied how to become a better blogger. I listened to some webinars, researched Instagram best practices, and even dabbled in creating a new look for Kremb de la Kremb. One special blog post I read was written by Lisa Humphries. Basically, her ninth way of making meaningful connections online really resonated with me: be nice. Something I try to do in real life and now am making a very concerted effort to do online as well.
6. I loved this pic from The Fab 40s post during September when we all styled menswear. I took a DIY idea from Geneva of A Pair and a Spare, and turned this men’s pen stripe shirt into the ever trendy off-the-shoulder top. I feel like my hair is very Leonardo DiCaprio, yet I can’t figure out how to style it like this again!
7. Lucky us! My sister came to visit us for a weekend! It was a short little visit begging for more. My/our turn to visit next!
8. With a Get Redressed event happening during the month of September, I was able to collaborate with Norbyah (I’m a Norbyah) and Jackie (M&Sandthensome). When Jackie went to sort and hand pick some clothing for us to style, she chose this feathered goodness knowing I would absolutely adore it. You were right Jackie, and thank you!! My ostrich feather skirt dreams have come true!
9. With lots of rest recuperating came a great deal of reading. I think I read five books in September. Awesome! I wish I could read that many every month…. Being a slow reader is tough on my librarianship.
If you are on Instagram, it’s time that we are following each other. I’m @krembdelakremb. What are you?
You and your sister are identical. Wow! And I love that feathery skirt in the bottom row!
Hee hee! Thank you Johanna. That’s a real compliment regarding my sister. And, yes to the skirt , eh? I can totally see you rocking something like this too. In fact, do you already have one!?
A x
Thank you Nancy. I’ve got one more month with them, and then most likely a few more months of sneakers. It’s all good. Anything to be on the way to a better hip.
