A Plaid Dress with Cowboy Boots

My Friday post is so late!! With this fact, I need to announce that since I’m on vacation, the blog will be too. I should have announced this earlier, but… I got busy enjoying my vacation–as I should! I plan to finish out this week with a post on Monday and maybe Wednesday, but then I’ll be taking a mini break–like maybe two weeks.

Before leaving Hong Kong however, I made sure to snap some pictures in this outfit. There’s a bit of a backstory–kind of sad, but I made it work nonetheless. At the very first Christmas bazaar of the season, back in November, I met the lovely Lisa von Ortenberg of LvO Boutique. Beside being a stunning, tall, blue eyed, blond German, her dresses are exquisite and impeccable. I had such fun hearing about how she has become a designer in Hong Kong. This is something I secretly wish to be… (Never say never right?)

All of Lisa’s designs are made in the highest quality silk in the most amazing patterns which she then styles into very unique designs. There was this perfectly navy and forest green plaid silk shirt dress with accents of white coming through. It was a dress I had to have, yet unfortunately her sizes were too small, and when she went to make me the dress tailored just to me, the fabric had unfortunately run out. I was out of luck for this perfect plaid dress that would expertly match my new white cowboy boots.

Oh well. So it be. Then, in a shopping burst at the very end of the school week leading up to our departure to Bali, I was in an H&M to buy last minute gifts for co-workers and such. I saw this dress on the rack, grabbed the biggest size available, and hoped for the best. Now, it’s not in the luxurious fabric of Lisa’s dress, nor does it have any unique styling as her’s did, but it will have to do. It works as my plaid dress with cowboy boots.

I’m a sucker for plaid. And now I’m a sucker for cowboy boots. The two together equal the perfect match to me. And I’m not talking the flannel kind that cowboys wear–although that could work too! Right now I’m enjoying elevating the look of cowboy boots, and these white ones that I added to my wardrobe are my new, bright, favorite pair.

Plaid, plaid, plaid. It’s like a sign of Christmas isn’t it?

Do you wear plaid?

PS This post was late. But, I plan to be on time tomorrow….
