Phefer Nuts

 

These cookies are as easy as sin—and tast just like it too!  They are sooooo good.  I first tasted them from a gal in Saudi Arabia, and  I’ve been making them ever since.

Preheat oven to 325.

Mix the following ingredients:

  • 1 cup butter (We just realized we added too much! We’ll see what happens;)
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • Pinch salt
  • 6 tbs whipping cream
  • 1 tsp cinnamon (Of course we doubled this!)
  • 1/2 tsp ginger
  • 3 cups flour

Chill this mixture.  Roll into ropes.  Cut into morsels, or just roll into mini bites.  Place on an ungreased baking sheet.  Bake at 325 for 20 minutes or until light brown.

Please note: The dangerous thing about these bite sizes of heaven are the size.  You can eat them by the handful if you’re not careful!
