It’s funny but sometimes I really do feel like I have nothing to wear. This I absolutely ridiculous; I realize my wardrobe is overfloweth. Perhaps that is the problem….maybe it’s time to embrace less is more…
Yet I grow so attached to my clothing. I have a gazillion graphic tees and a gazillion more sneakers. I get this close (I’m pinching my fingers together) to giving something away, and then I stop. This week it was my rainbow sneakers. I rarely wear them, but they’re just so irresistibly cute! I go through my t-shirt collection but then think, “What if one day I want to say that message?”
Going on one of those no spending years months might help, but by the end of the month I’ve always bought at least a new tee! It’s really bad; I know. And then there’s the guilt I’m beginning to feel associated with high Street fashion, landfills, and sustainability. I’m guilty as charged!
One thing doesn’t change: even a day like this one, when I feel I have nothing to wear, I love getting dressed and building an outfit. I enjoyed adding those little flared socks you see. And picking out a scarf to tie on my plastic bag was actually a joy. Lately I’ve been grabbing for my statement necklaces again; they’ve been slightly disregarded for the small dainty ones I’ve usually been layering.
Perhaps the reason I felt I had nothing to wear is usually on this last Monday of the month, I’m posting with the Fab 40s: Jennie, Mary, Sheela, and Suzy. It’s sad for me not to be wearing plaid with them today–that would have helped with what I should wear. I do still adore all these ladies so much, so please do go link to them to see they’re Fall 2018 takes on plaid. (I already have plaid slotted for an upcoming Wednesday in October….)
By the way, here’s the first time this tee was featured. Look how young the kiddos are. I can’t believe this is only three years ago. Vincent has grown like two feet! And Gigi’s hair the same! Maybe I can get them on the blog again soon. Time seems to be fleeting with these two…
Do you have a similar wardrobe problem to me?
Nothing to Wear!?
Because of excess? Eeek. Time for spring cleaning–in the fall!
