1. Sailor Shirt
In my opinion there are FIVE weekend essentials for throwing together a casual yet cute outfit. First, the perfect sailor shirt. This is actually my third Lands’ End version. (And yes, I’ll get my annual fourth this coming summer 2014.)
2. Cat Eye Sunnies
A pair of cat eye sunglasses adds a bit of funky chic. My favorite are my Tom Ford’s.
3. Cut-off Jean Shorts
Finding your perfect pair of cut-offs can be difficult, but once you do, you’re in luck. Here’s my recommendation: head to a second hand shop and go to the men’s department. Choose a pair one size to big and wide in the legs. (Don’t forget to check the pocket color! I did and my DIY pair have light blue pockets. Oh well!) Then, follow The Glamourai’s directions on cutting them off.
4. Red Lipstick
It’s no lie: I do love a red lippy. The solid, true vibrant yet strong version I keep returning to is NARS Cruella. It’s pretty perfect.
5. Black Flip Flops
I’m not picky about my black flip flops. I used to have Havaianas, but when those broke (after years of use) on holiday I found this pair in some market somewhere–I think in the Philippines or maybe Thailand–both countries have the soft cushy kinds only found in local markets.
For more options for your shopping pleasure, I’ve made a sampling from Shopcade.
Love it Ann! You just may have inspired me to add to my stripped shirt collection! I have to be a part of the Lands End group!
Oh Amy! I wish I would have gifted it to you at some point. I’m really bad at gift giving when I’m so far away! Hence, your wedding present! Argh. Which reminds me I still need to send one since the other got lost!
I hope you’re settling in to the Kan well:D Love, Annie
