There are so many mothers out there. There are so many mothers in my own life: my mom, my godmother, my mother-in-law, my sisters, sister-in-laws. There are all my aunties and girlfriends. There are the women who may or may not have children, yet they still mother. Mothering is an instinctual part of being female. I can’t think of one woman whom I haven’t witnessed mothering in some capacity. In my humble opinion, there are so many mothers, so many. Happy Mother’s Day to every single woman in my life!
These pictures are from our trip to Thailand during Christmas time. It takes a bit of cajoling to take pictures these days–it’s the total opposite of when they were younger. I used to make photo albums of all our trips. Perhaps it’s time to go back to this format, offering my kiddos a good ol’ fashioned photo album for trips and Christmas vacations.
We’ve spent many Christmases on this exact beach in Thailand. It’s the perfect destination really: there are no cars–only walking on the sandy paths. This is Krabi, Thailand where the scenery is beyond majestic. Huge rock formations hover over the sandy beaches.
Back to mothering–just look at this adorable lady. I wonder how many children she has. For sure somehow to me both her smile and her eyes show that she has mothered. There’s an innate look of kindness and gentleness present in her face.
My stripes matched the fruit shack stall: therefore a photoshoot ensued thanks to Kevin. These little short rompers are everywhere, and they offer a fun yet appropriate swimwear coverup. Make sure to check out your H&M sales’ rack–there are always goodies there, like this striped, strapless, coverup I picked up for under $10.
There’s one last item I’m wearing in this post that I can’t wait to get my hands back on. Can you guess what it is? Yes, the denim fanny pack! My sister took it after embracing the wonder of a handsfree purse. I kind of have a feeling she hasn’t been using it, so when I ask for it back, I don’t think there will be a fight. Am I wrong Julie? Are you embracing the fanny pack? Come on, bring the Joanie in you out!!
One last hurrah to all the women out there!
Happy Mother’s Day to So Many Mothers!
To all the female readers out there! I believe in my heart that every single grown woman has given motherly love to others in their life. Heck, I may have two of my own, but each day I’m constantly helping teenagers manage their time, reminding them to look me in the eye when they speak to me, and offering encouraging words as they exit the library doors to head on their way. Doesn’t that sound a bit like mothering?!
