For Me, a Midi Dress Needs a Waist

Last week I stated that on Wednesdays I’d be trying out longer styled midi dresses, and it taught me something: my midi dress needs a waist! With a longer hem, I don’t have my legs to highlight, so I need to try to accentuate my curves–which these day seem to be plentiful. (I discussed this issue last Friday.)

This dress is pretty nifty with its inbuilt waist tie. These two long sashes just wrap and wrap around providing the necessary tuck. I do wish it was in a better color–I forgot how oatmeal washes me out! I had a sweater that my dad got me just on a whim. I loved it so, but oh, it looked terrible on me. I’ll figure out if I can style this dress to brighten it up. First up with be to wear a blue jean jacket as blue is always my quick fix.

You may have noticed I’ve been trying out the turban. I’m not so sure it suits me. I got three on sale: this black one, a polka dot one, and now this leopard version. I’d say that’s giving this look a fair try. But, I just don’t like it. Even my dad said so! Haha!! Oh well. I’ll find someone who likes them and give them away. Basically, I always feel a little silly, and no one wants to feel that way!

While Maeve was here she reminded me about my Louis Vuitton Speedy. Since then I’ve been using it every day, and it’s such a special little bag. Yes, it’s a luxury, and yes, I paid too much for it. But, I bought it with pride when I received a very large bonus. It’s my, “Good job Annie” purse, and I love it!

One final note to self: I may love the frosty lip in real life, but it does not photo well with a pale top! Bring back the bold lippy!

And, yes, since my midi dress needs a waist, there will be one in next week’s post!
