When Sheela called “Laced Up,” for this month’s Fab 40s theme, it was a no brainer. Of course I maintained my sartorial signature: sneakers! And of course, this pair of over-the-top, clunky sneakers have their own little back story…. I can’t remember where I first spied the Fila Disruptor last spring, but once I did, my fashion fixation began! The problem was I couldn’t find them anywhere here in Hong Kong, and I also couldn’t find anyone to deliver these oversized sneakers to HK. I had to wait till summer to receive them–even though they’d been ordered back in April. Last week was their first debut, and oh they felt great! With a pair of sneakers this big and poufy, it really did feel (and possibly look!) like I was walking on clouds.
