Cross the little bridge and enter into our villa at Amertha Bali Villa.
Here we are in gorgeous Bali, and Kevin has definitely out done himself with this booking. Many years ago when we met my parents in Thailand, Kevin had planned such a wonderful trip that my parents started referring to him as KevStar Travels. I thought it was about time to share some of Kevin’s travel tips since we are staying in such a stellar spot here on the beautiful island of Bali.
Kevin uses two web resources and cross references them back and forth. First he goes to TripAdvisor. Based on what he finds in the top ten hotels of his search for our destination, he will then go to Agoda to try and book any of those top ranked hotels. TripAdvisor is super reliable as it’s a network of travellers posting their reviews of places. Often times the reviewers will even inlcude their own pictures which can be more telling than the stock photos that the original websites will use. The great thing about Agoda is more and more frequently they are offering cancellation up to 24 hours before checking in. Also, Agoda is offering different payment options: a better price is offered if you pay upon booking while for a little more money you can pay as late as the day before. This is convenient when you’re not quite ready to commit to a trip.
Usually Kevin prefers to work straight with the hotel–you tend to get better all around treatment out of the hotel if you book directly with them. At times though better deals may be found online through other sources–just be wary that if anything were to happen to your booking, you take the chance of off chance cancellations or not getting fully reimbursed for any random issues. Once the booking is made through Agoda, Kevin begins to create a relationship with the hotel by emailing directly–again this perpetuates better service upon our arrival! It worked–we booked our transport from Denpasar to Pemuteran through the hotel plus we were able to easily move to a better room once we arrived!

The kids were instantly impressed by our own little pool!
The fountain continually runs providing a tranquility amidst the singing birds.
