Jaipur’s Beauty

Jaipur–and all of Rajasthan–have a magical way of taking one back in time.  It wasn’t difficult for me to imagine being a princess amongst all the grandeur.  I chose some of the best pictures from our trip to highlight Jaipur’s beauty.

(Please excuse the poor quality of pictures.  It’s time to get a new camera–and some lessons from Julie!)

This was taken in the arch way entering into the Samode Havelli. The flowers all around were gorgeous!

We managed to see a puppet show, and Vincent picked up a Sunday/Monday. That's a puppet for Sunday (raj) and another for Monday (rani).

This hall was amazing. I would recommend to anyone going to Jaipur to head to this palace rather than bother with the fort. It was breathtaking, and we were in it!

We snuck around this palace hotel, and stumbled upon this intricate sitting hall. Amazing!

Here we're just sitting on the steps to enter the palace. (There's also a ramp entry for elephants!)

  1. Wow, it looks magical! We also love the pics. of all the animals. Seamus was trying to figure out how the snake got in the basket?

  2. I know, it’s hard to imagine. The charmer puts him in the basket where he stays. Once he takes of the lid, the snake pops out. As the charmer plays his instrument, the snake sways back and forth to the sound. It’s a bit scary though. I didn’t want us to get too close–even if the charmer said it was safe.
