I’ve never even seen jaws. It’s true! Therefore I have no idea why I gravitated toward this sweatshirt. We swam with a shark and its baby during our Bali scuba dive back in October. I don’t think that’s it though. I’ve always loved Emily’s bedazzled shark sweatshirt that she scored at Forever 21 years and years ago; although mine is very different to her sparkly one. Mainly I think it’s probably because of the way Zara styled it for their online shop. Regardless, I’m shocked that this sweatshirt is mine, as I’ve never even been able to see Jaws.
This week, when I wore this sweatshirt to school/work, on our way out the door my husband says to me: “Jaws, huh? Have you even seen the movie?” NO WAY was my immediate response. Our conversation then turned to whether he’d seen it. Kevin has and offered that he’d watch it with me. “Is it too scary for me?” Yep. It is, or it would be. That’s when I asked if I’d ever be able to scuba dive again if I saw it… The answer was a resolved, “NO! You better not watch it.”
I was then reminded by my Aunt Paddy via Instagram that when she and my uncle saw this movie with my mom and dad, my dad ended up on the floor of the movie theater. I can vaguely remember this memory from my childhood: they came home from the movies and had quite the laugh because my dad was so terrified of this movie in theater that he had to hide! Yeah, there’s no way I’m going to be able to see this movie.
Every now and then I’ll push myself to watch scarier stuff. I have always been such a ninny when it comes to scary movies. If the movie veers toward a more sci-fi slant, I’m usually okay, but if it’s horror, I’m out. I don’t mind action packed thrillers; those movies are fun to watch. But really, I’m very similar to my dad making me a complete ninny!
Have you seen Jaws
Is it as awful as I think it will be? Should I try to watch it now that I’m sporting this 1975 iconic thriller? Or perhaps I’ll just keep to myself, enjoying the sea, and not ruining my love for the beautiful yet mysterious waters.
Note the new silver hammered evil eye bracelet on my wrist with the matching ring. I worked with a silversmith in Bali to make it. It has been so amazing to take my creative design and work with someone to produce my vision. I’m still working with Mustika in Bali to take this design and create four more versions. My hopes are to eventually launch a line of Kremb de la Kremb evil eyes. I’m hoping by the end of 2019 I’ll have all the designs ready in order to sell them. Maybe some of my readers will be interested in wearing a piece of Kremb de la Kremb…
