It’s a Jungle Out There!

Jungle5

One of the things I truly find so amazing about Hong Kong is that both sides, north and south, are both jungles. One, the south side where I live, is all natural with sandy beaches winding the way, islands sparkling in the sea, and steep green mountains filled with trails for hiking. Then, simply cruise through the middle of a mountain called Aberdeen Tunnel, and boom, you enter into a whole different kind of jungle–one with mirrored windowed skyscrapers, scrawling roads, people everywhere moving efficiently somewhere. The awesome thing about Hong Kong is I absolutely love both of these jungles!

In these shots, I’m wearing my turquoise cheetah dress (something similar here). I recently updated it by getting rid of the high-low hem; now as one length the dress feels a bit more current. I took two sets of pictures in two very different jungles: one set right behind my house on Ma Hang trail in Chung Hom Kok, and the other set on the skywalk Pacific Place and the Lippo Building. For the south side, the actual wild, very natural side of Hong Kong, I paired it with a mesh sweater (again, similar) and a little black sparkly purse from the girls’ section at Zara. For the city jungle on the north part of the island, I wore my bleached out jean jacket (Rag and Bone has a good one) and a snake tote (Cole Han’s version comes in various colors: ironstone, poolside, and punch). You always need layers in Hong Kong while you also need foot coverage. It rained on both of these days! I have been so happy with these black studded booties.

In both pics, I wore Cruella by NARS which is one essential lippy.

What do you consider to be your jungle? Tell me.
