Happy Brights! Happy Spring!

Yellow BagHappy Spring! And happy brights! I think it’s official that we can now bust out our bright, cheery spring clothes. I did so this last weekend with a bright striped dress, shoes, sunnies and bag, plus matching yellow wall. Nothing like a little color to make one feel bright! (Including bright lips and bright eyes–I love any excuse to wear my blue mascara!)

Some Outfit Details:

Sunnies: Topshop I saw these sunglasses, and then didn’t buy them. When this happens, it often becomes my obsession. When I saw them at the newly opened third Topshop branch in HK, I didn’t bat an eye and scooped them. Unfortunately I wore them in the sea and so some of the mirror is coming off. Note to self!
Earrings and Dress: Forever 21 This dress also came in black and white, but I was like, Nah, add some more color to my wardrobe.
Blue Pumps: Vanilla Suite Vincent and I were on our way to the computer market one afternoon in Hong Kong. As we passed by the Salvation Army, I was like, Wait a second! I’ve found some unique items in there before like this fox clutch. On this visit I scored these bright blue pumps. They’re basically brand new!
Yellow Straw Bag: Boracay Beach Boutique Every time I passed by this bright yellow bag in Boracay, I wanted it. Luckily the kids got it for me for my birthday!
Bright Lips: M.A.C Party Parrot This bright coral pink is total winner. It’s very, very bright and it’s not really red or pink but more of a coral color.
Blue Lashes: NYX Mascara All I can say is I love my blue mascara and the one by NYX is a sure bet.

  1. Ahhhh, what a lovely vision you are, Ann. The dress and those earrings, and that oh so charming yellow bag. You look quite gamine 🙂 xoxo

  2. A little “Parisian chic” in the middle of Hong Kong, dearest Ann!! Kudos for choosing the red-and-white striped dress over the black-and-white one; don’t get me wrong…l adore black and white, but adding some brighter colours to my wardrobe has lately become my goal, too!! And those metallic blue shoes are a total “wow!!” XOXO

  3. Another gorgeous bag! Love all the bright colours around at the moment, I just blogged about colour blocking – love it.

    1. I know right! And now my next Style Story will be of 10 days of Pantone’s colors for 2015. I was inspired by the April issue of InStyle Magazine. Come check it out on April 24!

Thanks for stopping by and commenting!

      Ann

  4. You look absolutely fabulous! All of those colours are so vibrant and you’re rocking the Spring time zest beautifully. What a beautiful setting for your photos too. Gorgeous.

          1. Hehe Ann… Sort of. Fiona works with OAK on their vlog and blog, but she isn’t a founder or designer of their gorgeous jewellery – just a jewellery enthusiast who writes her own blog (Free Range Chick) and works with OAK Jewellery. Fiona is writing at the moment, and is chatting to you in the third person on this here comment! x

  5. Love this photo shoot so much! The matching bag and wall are too cute. The earrings and the dress… AND the lippy – all amazing. I rock a lot of black, even in the summer, but this is definitely inspiring me to step into some brights for a change. *Fiona reaches for the coral lippy*.

    1. Yay! Go Fiona! You can do it!! Let me know if you need lippy recommendations. For example to get started, go grab Wet n Wild Purty in Persimmon. Super bright. I’ve got it on today. It’s a little orange, a little pink, a little red. It’s basically the perfect bold lippy. Thanks for stopping by! A x

      1. Aw thanks Ann… That shade sounds the business! I’ve got some crazy bright colours from MAC – one is a little too bright for real-life, but photographs beautifully. I’ve been wearing a lot of deep shades of late, I take a lot of inspiration from goth-culture, but equally love brights. I know – a bit contrary, huh? I think my husband may go berserk if he sees me return home with any more cosmetics. I’m a bit of an addict… Eek! x

        1. Fiona, one more quick question…Do you have Rebel by MAC? It’s like the perfect combo of bright purple yet also a bit goth;D I think you’d like it–if you don’t already have it. A x

          1. Ann, I don’t have that shade, but I just had to Google it, because I’m certain I’ve been coveting it. My darker shades are in more burgundy tones, but I have absolutely no purple shades. Hmmm, I feel a purchase coming on! Thanks for the tip! My husband is gonna be a bit cross! (o: x

          2. Oh yikes… I’m gonna need a cuppa for this (and a credit card). Thanks Ann – you’re a star xx
