This girl of mine, Gigi Krembs, well, she’s pretty awesome! Her smile is contagious and her heart is pure gold. All of her teachers can only give us compliments: like how kind she is to her classmates, what a leader she is amongst her peers, the fearlessness she exhibits with her questions. Yes, every time both Kevin and I are filled with such pride when in comes to Gigi Krembs.
Gigi has now finished 8th grade; her celebration from her final level of middle school was during the last week of school. Kevin and I officially have two high schoolers now. When did this happen? She used to be my little girl. Well, she’ll always be my girl–little girl, maybe not so much anymore. Growing up is hard–for the parents too.
I have so much pride for this young woman. I love her beyond I can even really say actually. We’ve told one another ever since she could speak that we love the other more–until we finally came up with a solution. We love the other to Googolplexian: this is the world’s largest known number with a name.
There’s something that has happened with the evolution of Gigi Krembs in the last year that makes her an even more loveable individual. Granted, I still get at the very minimum four eye rolls a day–she’s up for best teen actress! She’s always been my cuddle bunny, she’s always been so creative, and she’s always been such a thoughtful individual in our family. Yet now, her humor is just an absolute riot. She’s hilarious! And this makes being with her even that much more enjoyable. On Friday nights and during the weekend, I actually just want to go hang out with her. And if she’s out….well, I’m at a loss and don’t really know what to do with myself. I really, sincerely just like being with her. She makes me laugh, and giggle, and well, she just makes me smile. Not only is her smile contagious, but her personality is too.
To say we are proud of this young woman would be an understatement. The overwhelming feeling of love for Gigi Krembs is indeed simply beyond all I can write in words. I do know what I can say–I plan to cherish every single high school moment of this remarkable young woman.
