So for on Wednesdays of October I’ve been styling outfits with a touch of Western. The obvious way was by simply adding cowboy boots; next up I paired a snake skort with a double buckle belt. This week to style with the Western trend in mind, I’ve added fringe and studs. In addition, I’ve shopped my closet: everything is either secondhand or very old. I love when I’m able to find secondhand clothing. To that end, I’m starting to sell some of my wardrobe that I no longer wear. You can find me @krembdelakremb on both Depop and Carousell. Go shop my closet!
I’ve had this fringe vest since my days in Being. It’s actually made of real leather which was a total score considering I picked it up at Forever 21. The three studded items I’m wearing were also all bargains: the bag was a Zara sale score. Those end of year Zara sales contain so many goodies. Seriously, watch out for those! The belt is so, so, very old. I have no idea when I got it, but I do know I’ve had to fix it with glue because the leather separated. I also remember that I did get it on clearance at Old Navy. Finally, these little booties were the ultimate score: brand new Zara from a secondhand swap provided by Ruglane. I sure miss those swaps! They were good ones, and I paid $100 HKD ($13 USD)!!
I should mention that the Levi’s I’m wearing are also used. I have a small, medium, large, and extra large pair of Levi’s–that’s how much my weight fluctuates. These are the large, so at least they’re not the XLs! Up next is my mediums…. I’ve put this “Haute Mess” tee in my pile to sell on either Depop or Carousell. When I wear a graphic tee, I need to believe it. I like to wear shirts like this: “Even My Feelings Have Feelings,” “Nothing to Wear,” or “Open Heart Open Mind.” Any of these messages I can stand behind. Haute mess…not so much. I mean, sure I might think to myself, “Annie, you’re nuts!” But I never think of myself as a hot mess. At first I thought the play on the word haute was funny, but even then, I don’t want to be a stylish mess! I’m not selling this tee very well am I? At any rate, it’s not for me. Maybe somebody would like it–otherwise I will give it away.
I’ve been taking all my pictures with Remota these days–until I can work with a photographer. Even Monday’s beach post was with my tripod and remote control. Gigi may have been there, but she and my family are done! But that’s ok; I quite like my independence. For example let me describe the setting of this photoshot where I’m hidden behind a temple in my neighborhood, Stanley, HK. For some unknown reason to me (but I will be finding out), there is a furnace behind this temple just about three feet to my right. It gives off a wonderful smoky smell and the sounds were intriguing as well. The fire stoker came back there during my personal photoshoot and gave me a friendly smile. Against the furnace there was also a bike and some plastic containers. To my left side there were a bunch of buckets and mops. I liked the wall for the way it allowed my outfit to blend in, but I think it’s pretty funny: there’s so much that hasn’t been shown.
Hmmmm, I wonder what the final Wednesday of wearing Western will be….any guesses?
