A Fall Beach Days

It’s hard to imagine that this lovely past Sunday we spent it at the beach with friends. I’d like to imagine everything is fine and dandy, but the truth is Hong Kong is in dire straights right now. I’m not very political, and I don’t plan to be, but if you pray, please do so for Hong Kong. This special place needs all the positive energy it can get.

On Sunday, Kevin and I headed out to Pui O, a lazy beach town on Lantau Island to visit our friend Amber and her family. In fact, I took their family photos. Wow! They have such a beautiful family. Their son is gorgeous. He reminds me of the little squish Vincent who was also just a beautiful little boy–those big blue eyed baby boys that stop the ladies in their tracks. It makes sense; Amber, the stunning lady on my right, is a pretty person. Her beauty runs deep. She’s a very, very good friend too!

During this weekend, Kevin and I enjoyed a bit of normalcy. We did things we hadn’t done all this year because of the continuous turmoil amongst this city. We went on two date nights–both Thursday and Friday. Then on this sunny Sunday, we headed out to the beach. It was so nice to enjoy the city of Hong Kong. Despite its woes right now, this place is tremendously amazing. That’s what makes the state of affairs all the more saddening.

If you’ve been a longtime reader of Kremb de la Kremb, then you know I definitely have a beach uniform: something white and flowy with a pair of jean shorts. However, on this Sunday and since this day, there’s been a cool breeze in the air. I won’t say this is the last of shorts, but our week long fall might have arrived this week. It’s over in a blink, but the fresh air and the cooler chill is very welcomed. Now if the city can mend… that may deserve no comment after the horrendous week Hong Kong has suffered.

(I do realize my reference to HK politics is quite vague. I have no authority to speak about it, but it is heart wrenching to witness. This incident started the chaotic spiral this week, and then last night the violence persisted at local university. At present, with school cancelled yet again tomorrow, we do not see an end in sight quite yet.)
