Lately when I head into a store, say H&M or Zara, even Forever 21, I make sure to take a quick glance through the men’s section. That’s where I picked up this leopard shirt: Forever 21. It kind of reminds me of a bowling shirt, nice and boxy and a bit oversized–perfect for the bit of belly fat I’m trying to hide. (Read this post here to learn about some physical changes I’m experiencing.)
This isn’t the first time I’ve walked through the men’s section and scored. It happened at Christmas when I went to the basement of H&M simply to pay because the cashier long is shorter and easier. Little did I know I’d scan the perfect red sweatshirt (another one similar). It’s fantastique!
I do need to find a better pair of all black sneakers however. Every time I wear these in pictures, I’m reminded of my waitressing days back at Hill’s Resort where I had to wear black sneakers as part of my uniform. There’s something about this particular pair of dad sneakers that just doesn’t cut it. I’m not sure why, but I’ll go ahead and say it: they’re just plain ugly! And I’m in search of a better pair…
My hair is definitely getting long. I can wear it all the way back and also try out the barrette trend that has been so very popular this winter. Wearing barrettes feels so much more natural to me than a turban. (There will be just one more turban post this week on Wednesday; then I think it will be fair to say I’ve given it a try, but I’m done with trying the turban trend!)
Hey, maybe, by chance, my black dad sneakers are also in the men’s section. It’s my quest… and when I’m in the midst of a fashion fixation, there’s absolutely no stopping me!
