In April I tie-dyed a jean jacket. Well, of course I needed some DIY tie-dye jeans to match! These jeans are my weight gauge jeans; if I can fit in them, I’m not doing too bad, but if they don’t fit, reign it in Annie, reign it in. They’re just a classic straight leg jean from the Gap that I’ve had for ions. I’m sure I picked them up at one of Gap’s end of summer season sales before heading back out overseas.
In order to DIY tie-dye jeans, it’s easiest to start with a dark denim. Here I threw on my jean jacket to create the full on tie-dyed denim tuxedo! Yes, it’s a little overkill, but I had to give it a try.
The t-shirt deserves special mention: it was made by a senior young man who is about to graduate. Our senior students conduct senior projects, and three young men joined together to create a t-shirt line. Check out the t-shirts here and then the skilled artist here. Perhaps some readers are wondering where the heck I am. Well, I’m on the art floor–out and behind where the “student walls” are. There’s this little alcove back behind all the art studios where student graffiti artists can dabble at their art. It’s so fun to go back there through out the year. I figured since I’m highlighting a student artist with this tee, I might as well showcase some of the wall art as well.
To make these DIY tie-dye jeans I followed the exact steps as making the tie-dye jean jacket.
