It’s a given that I’m usually sporting some type of sneaker. Yet, lately, I’ve been able to find a shoe–rather a boot, that is just as comfortable: cowboy boots. I adore my tobacco pair; I find I’ve been wearing them at least once a week. With the Western trend so hot this fall, I wanted another pair, and I went with white–white cowboy boots!
I never wear things to get compliments. I mean they are nice all and well received if I get one. And I did not get these boots for compliments. No way. However for some reason, I thought I would get a ton of compliments from these white cowboy boots. This has not been the case, but guess what? It doesn’t matter. I feel like a rockstar in these white cowboy boots. It’s like I’m a bit Dolly and a bit Dallas Cowgirl all at the same time.
It’s just kind of funny. They are definitely bright; I mean you can’t miss them. They are probably quite intimidating. Like, “Does that lady know she’s wearing bright white boots!?” Yep! Which brings back some sentiment from Wednesday’s post from last week: ya gotta wear confidence in order to rock what your wearing. Confidence can be worn just like a pair of boots. In order to look good in anything, I first need to feel good in what I’m wearing. I can’t reiterate how important it is to wear one’s confidence.
I felt so great in this outfit on Sunday! First, of course, I had the boots. Then, I loved pairing some good old fashioned stars with the boots. It was not overly Western but just enough. I had my favorite holiday lippy on: NYX #37 from their metallic Liquid Suede line. It’s the perfect mix of red and pink for the Christmas season–a strawberry red. I find it’s my perfect December lippy, and it will be on repeat all month long. Finally I had some fun with my earring stacking strings of rhinestones on my left ear and a constellation star assortment on my right. It’s so fun to mix up earrings, and now that I have four holes to work with, I’m having a blast with my earring collection. Finally, because it’s always best to try to show a waist, I chose my silver DIY belt bag that I made with an old silver clutch and old silver and gold skinny belt. The weather was lovely, and I was neither hot nor cold all day: a perfect Goldilocks, just right.
There was one item I can say I regretted wearing on Sunday with this outfit, and I have promptly given them away. I wore nude nylons. I always appreciate how the Asian women I’m around wear a pair of nude nylons to smooth their legs. I thought I’d give it a try with my H&M pair. I haven’t given up; I will try again, yet this color is not for me. I need a more transparent pair in just a touch darker. I plan to find the right pair that makes my legs look perfectly smooth and natural all at once. Did you happen to notice I had on nude nylons?
Not that I’m seeking out compliments, but what do you honestly think of my white cowboy boots? Excellent or a bit to little girly for a woman in her 40s? Don’t worry; it won’t hurt my feelings. Because…
I absolute love my new white cowboy boots!
