So, our move to Hong Kong has not been very smooth, but then when is a transition smooth? We were all very excited about trying out a houseboat. It meant an extra 3 weeks in the serviced apartment, but we were willing to wait. When the day came for us to move on, the landlordContinue reading Abort Ship! Abort Ship!
We’re in Hong Kong Baby!
We are so excited to be in Hong Kong. Below are just a few of the highlights of living here so far–in no particular order.
RV there yet?
This summer was the first ever Fru1 RV trip. Here’s the list of folks: Bumpa Doc and Nie, Auntie Mary, Uncle Adrian and Aunt Kate, Uncle Matthew and Auntie Julie with Ellie, Maeve, and Thomas, plus the Kremb de la Krembs. We had two RVs plus Kate’s folks’ Air Stream. Oh, I almost forgot theContinue reading RV there yet?
The Krembs 1st Camp Out
Kevin and I have been camping many times, yet the kids had never been. With usual summer visits to the cabin it’s hard to stray away, but this summer offered the perfect opportunity. We took the kids on their first camping trip to the Olympic Peninsula. It was so gorgeous but more importantly such fun! We hadContinue reading The Krembs 1st Camp Out
The Great Wall One Last Time
We went to the Great Wall of China one last time this weekend. Going up there, hiking around the Wild Wall, hanging out with friends has been an integral part of our three years in Beijing. It truly is an amazing wonder of the world. We enjoyed all our visits–which were many!

Recipe: Papa Pascolini’s Angel Tips
Sandy shared a Christmas morning tradition with us last night: Angel Tips! They are delicious! Here’s the recipe with a few shots. In a working blender (Sandy’s broke during the first batch, but that didn’t hold us back!), fill halfway with ice, a quart of vanilla ice cream, 3/4 cup gin, and 1 1/4 cupContinue reading Recipe: Papa Pascolini’s Angel Tips
Tea Party for Gigi
I pretty much read Tea for Ruby to Gigi, oh, about 4 times a week. So, when I went to plan out her small little birthday party, I figured a tea party might go over well…It did!
Gigi’s 8!
Silver Pagoda Mountain
We are back to touring. It’s always fun to take an adventure on a Sunday. Today we finally found Silver Pagoda Mountain. It may just become our favorite hike yet with the little creek leading the way up and a bell tower reward at the top. We made it!!

Recipe: Broccoli Candy
Our dear friend Sandy Pascolini shared this recipe with us, and it’s so good we’ve been making it all summer long! I’ve adjusted her recipe to serve a crowd–which is what we usually have out here at the Kremb de la Kremb Cabin! Use the florets from 5 heads of broccoli. Douse and marinate for at leastContinue reading Recipe: Broccoli Candy
