On Wednesday I started writing on the Kremb de la Kremb blog again. I mentioned how intense the summer was. While it was super chaotic yet structured all at the same time, I did find the intensity rather enjoyable. Every day we had at least one game to get to–sometimes two games in a day. How amazing to watch my son play so much baseball! It was great! And I enjoyed every minute of it–even those times waiting in a parking lot for him to finish up: it was all a joy.
Probably the very best thing about this baseball summer was sharing Vincent’s talent with family members. Usually folks back home receive WhatsApp updates regarding Vincent’s successes with the sport. But this summer, everyone was able to witness his talent in real life. I was so proud! And I felt so content and happy to share his game with my family.
For Jane and Alex, Kevin’s folks, it brought some renewed vitality to the house. They were right along with us supporting Vincent all summer long. We even made it to Spokane for a tournament where these pictures were taken. Gonzaga University has a bit of legacy in our family: my dad went, Kevin went there, many of Vincent’s aunts and uncles went there. Kevin and I, plus my mom and dad, and my grandparents, all got married at the church at GU. It’s fair to say we are ZAGS!!
Enjoy a few family pics from the four day tournament in Spokane:
